He was a native of Lee County, Va., and had lived in Kingsport most of his life. Sproles was a retired barber and attended Manville Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Inez Carroll Sproles, Kingsport; three son s, Gene Sproles, Kingsport, Kyle Sproles, Tacoma, Wash., and S. Sgt. Tommie Sproles, Ft. Lee, Va.; two sisters, Mrs. Dora Yeary, Bristol, Va., Miss Ida Sproles, Big, Stone Gap, Va.; one brother, Clarence (Bud) Sproles, Wise, Va., and seven grandchildren.
