Survived by wife, Edith C. Childers; two sons, Milton A. "Sonny" Childers Jr., of California, and L. Bruce Childers; two grandsons, Cade Childers and Brock Childers; sister, Merlene C. Bradford; and stepchildren, Diane S. Butler and Steven R. Stout, all of Baton Rouge.
Preceded in death by his parents, Fred C. and Nannie Manley Childers; and brothers, Courtney and Fred Childers. He was a 32nd degree Mason, model train enthusiast and loved to travel.
