Just about 1852, Brother Calvin moved his family from Russell County VA to the Linn/ Sullivan County line in MO while his other brothers Joseph and William Thurman remained in Russell County VA. In June of 1856 he purchased 40 acres of land in the Chillicothe Land District of Sullivan County, MO.
