Major W. Allen, 74, died at his home on Saturday, Oct. 31, 1959. He was a native of Prentiss County, MS, but had lived at Big Creek for the past 35 years.
He was a member of Jacinto Missionary Baptist Church and is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maude Umpress Allen of Big Creek; three daughters, Mrs. Oliver C. Shipp of Belzoni, MS, Mrs. Thomas Howell of Booneville, MS, Mrs. W. V. Drischel of Nashville, TN; three sons, W. E. Allen of Mobile, AL, O. C. Allen of Big Creek, Howard Allen of Birmingham, AL and by a sister, Mrs. Amos Babb of Deland, FL.
