LaVern F. Jackson was the 6th of 10 children of Carrol F. and Lona (Brannon) Jackson. He attended Con. 8 School and would have graduated from High School in 1946; however, he was drafted into the US Air Force, but completed his GED there while stationed in Denver, Colorado.
He married Wanda J. Willis February 14, 1952 in Lawton, Oklahoma. He was a farmer, rancher, and U. S. Civil Service Employee both at Ft. Sill and Altus Air Force Base. In 1967, their son, Sammy Lynn was born at Mt. Park, Oklahoma where they lived on the Daner Young Home Place (now the site of Tom Steed Reservoir).
LaVern was survived by his wife Wanda of the home, son Sammy Jackson of the home, six sisters, Blanche Caskey, Oklahoma City; Marie Courtney, Broken Arrow; Mozell Schulz, Topeka, Kansas; Maxine Rhoads, Talequah; Eva Jean Hays, Liberal, Kansas; Leta Faye Walkemeyer, Hugoton, Kansas; 3 brothers: Aaron Jackson, Roosevelt; Leo Jackson, Roosevelt; and Willie Jackson, Roosevelt; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other close relatives.
