He was born Jan.17,1909, in Knox county to Avery & Jessie Davis Cline, and lived his life in the Mount Vernon area. He owned and operated Cline's Saw & Glass Shop in Mount Vernon and had worked at the Mount Vernon Farmers Exchange, and G R Smith Hardware, both in Mount Vernon. He was a U S Army Veteran of WWII.
He is survived by three sisters: Mrs. Pearl Beckholt and Lucille Morey both of Mount Vernon, and Betty James of Fredericktown; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Shearer Cline in 1975 and one sister, Irene Bullock.
