Capt. Clifford Woodbury
The death of Capt Clifford Woodbury occurred early this morning at his home, 74 Gates Street. Captain Woodbury was a native of Gloucester, Mass., and came of an old New England seafaring family.
On 28 November 1877, he married Miss Melvina Smart of this city, and shortly after his marriage took up his residence here. Until his retirement several years ago he was active in the fishing industry of this section, owning many fishing boats.
Captain Woodbury will be remembered as a very kindly man, well liked by all who knew him. He was very considerate of others and never spoke ill of anyone. He was most devoted to his wife and home.
Those surviving Captain Woodbury are his wife, Mrs. Melvina Smart Woodbury; three sisters, Mrs Edna Wheaton and Mrs. Lizzie Leach, both of Manchester-by-the-Sea, and Mrs Abby Williams of Rockport, Mass.; also two brothers, Frank and Elbridge Woodbury both of Gloucester, Mass.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at his late residence
