"Death of Mrs. Harding"
"Death removed another of Niles pioneer women this morning, when resident of West street, passed away at 3 o'clock, after an illness of several months, during which she suffered with complications. Mrs. Harding was the widow of the late Eli Harding, and was born in Canfield on October 20, 1846, and shortly after her marriage to Mr. Harding, the family moved to Leavittsburg, where they resided until twenty-six years ago, when they took up their residence here. She was a member of the Leavittsburg Methodist church and always active in its interests, and retained her membership there for many years after coming to Niles, but recently had attended the services of the Bible students. She was a woman possessing a kindly disposition and of many lovable traits of character, and leaves many friends to extend their sympathy to her two daughters, Mrs. T.A. Murphy, of Cleveland, who has cared for her in her illness, and Mrs. T.W. Cureton, of Pueblo, Col., and her two sisters, Mrs. George Peck and Mrs. L.S. Herst, of Leavittsburg. She is also survived b five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held from the family home on West street Saturday at 2 o'clock, when Mr. Roudenbush will be in charge. The body will be laid to rest beside her late husband, Eli Harding, in Union cemetery.
