They began their married life on a farm northwest of Tipton. Charles and Margie spent 15 happy years together, 6 children were born to this union. Margie passed away on July 9, 1970. Charles continued to farm and raise their children. On Aug 1, 1979 Charles was united in marriage to Peggy Boden Schroeder at St Boniface Catholic Church. Together they shared 28 years farming, dancing and enjoying their 10 children. Charles was dedicated to his church, family, farm and country. He was a faithful and life long member of St Boniface Church and as his life on earth ended he was clutching his mother's crucifix in his hand. Charles was a member of the VFW, Legion and Knights of Columbus. Charles was proud of his children and enjoyed family gatherings. He always listened and was interested in their thoughts and ideas. Charles' grandchildren loved spending time with him and enjoyed his teasing attention. He has left a great legacy of faith, honesty, determination and courage for all his family members to follow. He took pride in his livestock and checking the cows and calves in the pasture was always a favorite pastime.
