WOMAN MARKS 100TH YEAR

Mrs. Mary Stidham, a resident of the Silver Crest Manor nursing home here, was honored on her 100th birthday anniversary by a party at the home Sunday, hosted by the Bethel Baptist Church.

Rev. James Green and Carl Steverson directed the celebration and religious music was provided by Al (Alfred) Stidham of Anadarko, a son of the honoree.

Mother of 12 children, Mrs. Stidham was widowed when her husband died in 1926. She never remarried and reared her children herself.

She was born in 1873 at Montgomery, Ala., and was married to the late William Wesley Stidham in 1890. After their marriage, the couple moved to Oklahoma and Stidham worked as a farmer. They settled first at Blair in 1899, then moved to Anadarko in 1923. Mrs. Stidham's other living children are Ellen Amburn of Tulsa; Leonard Stidham and Alma Garrett, both Anadarko; Dale Stidham of Chickasha; Willie Kent of Portales, N.M.; Delmas D. Stidham of Hiwasse, Ark.; Beatrice Base of Tuttle; and Amos Stidham of Silver (Siloam) Springs, Ark. Her other three children are the late Hester Fields, Alfred Stidham and Lonetta Stidham. Mrs. Stidham also has 58 grandchildren and 105 great-grandchildren.
