William Aaron Johnston, 86, of Elaine passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2007 in Helena. Mr. Johnston was born August 19, 1921 in Red Bay, Alabama to the late William Arthur Johnston and the late Mattie Kent Johnston.
He is survived by his sons, Joe Johnston and wife, Janet, of Apopka, Florida and David Johnston of Gainesville, Florida; brothers, Robert Johnston, Charles Johnston, Bob Johnston and wife, Dorothy, all of Elaine, and Curtis Johnston and wife, Kim, of Red Bank, Mississippi; sister, Robie Permenter and husband, John, of Vilonia; nieces, Evelyn Ashabranner and husband, Bobby, of West Helena, Susan Lumpkin and husband, Joe, of Eads, Tennessee; nephew, Allen Coates and wife, Linda, of Elaine; great-nieces, Donna Johnson and husband, Tim, of Fayetteville, Lisa Ward of Russellville, Deb Lewis and husband, Sean, of Poplar Grove; special friend, Julia Fong of Elaine; four grandchildren, Jil McAleer, Jenifer Johnston, Jessica Johnston and Kimberly Thompson.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Clayton, Cletus, Alfred, and Hollis Johnston and his wife, Marie Johnston
Services for Mr. Aaron Johnston will be held Friday, November 30, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Roller-Citizens. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Roller-Citizens. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena. Reverend Danny Weatherford will officiate.
Pallbearers are Allen Dale Coates, Bo Johnston, Tony Silva, Sean Lewis, Jerry Johnston and Tim Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Chester Myatt, Reeder Johnson, Dr. Gill Pillow, Steve Cannon, and Curtis Crisp.
Memorials may be made to Lambrook Baptist Church, Lambrook, Arkansas.
