Funeral services for Fred Martinez were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, 1995 at the Vase Funeral Chapel in Rock Springs. Graveside funeral services and interment were conducted at 1p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, 1995 at the Diamondville Cemetery in Diamondville. The Rev. Jesse C. Ybarra of the First Assembly of God conducted the services.

Pallbearers were Gary Yard, Jerry Boschetto, Robby Todd, Rick Hilty, Bob Hammer, Randy Fantin, Jay Anselmi and Ramon Gardea. Honorary pallbearer was Bob Allbright.

Martinez, 41, of 507 G St., Rock Springs, died at about 10:40 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, 1995 at his home.

A resident of Rock Springs since 1970 and former resident of Diamondville, Salt Lake City and Jackson, Martinez was born on May 8, 1954 in Salt Lake City, the son of the late Melaquis and Mary Duran Martinez. He attended school sin Kemmerer and Rock Springs and was a graduate of Rock Springs High School with the class of 1972. He attended Western Wyoming Community College and wrote and composed his own music.

He attended New Life Ministries.

Survivors include one daughter, Amy, of Evanston; three brothers, Melvin Martinez of Albuquerque, N.M., Richard Martinez and Dave Martinez, both of Rock Springs; three sisters, Mrs. Jerry (Janie) Iverson of Cheyenne, Marie Weyer of Seattle, and Mrs. Melvin (Edna) Hutchison of Riverton; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Martinez was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Tillie Lee Martinez, and one brother, Charles (Charlie) Henry Martinez.
