Funeral services for Mrs. John D. Akins, 78, will be held Sunday afternoon at the Lonestar Baptist Church. Burial will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery under direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Oakdale. Mrs. Akins died at 12:15 a.m. Firday in St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria.

Survivors include her husband, John D. Akins; three daughters, Mrs. Marie Farmer of Hineston, Mrs. Mae Dell Womble of Eustace, TX, and Mrs. Gloria Akins of Sieper; three sons, John D. Akins, Jr. and Aaron Akins, both of Alexandria and Billy Akins of Lacamp; three sisters, Mrs. Carrie Johnson, Mrs. Lola Morrison and Mrs. Ola B. Hughes, all of Hineston, and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
