Joyce, of Tyler, formerly of Beaumont and Jacksonville passed away on Sunday in Tyler. She was born in Longbranch, Texas to the late C.E. and Lula Barlow Allen.
She was a graduate of Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches and taught first grade in Beaumont I.S.D. for thirty two years. She lived in Tyler since 1990 and was a member of Pollard United Methodist Church.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Chesley Lee Hargraves, Jr., grandson, Chesley Lee Hargraves IV and four siblings.
Survivors include a son, C.L. 'Spike' Hargraves; daughter, Jan Darnell; a sister and brother-in-law, Maxine and Lamar Ramsey; grandchildren, Randall Allen York and wife Michelle; William Lee York; Amanda Joy Weiss and husband Joshua; great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Jacob and Matthew York and Marley Weiss.
