Mr. Amunrud, 87, a longtime Mabel area farmer, died Wednesday (Nov. 14, 2007) at his home.
He was born March 18, 1920, in Riceford, Minn. He married Amy Clarissa Housker on Jan. 25, 1957, at Mabel First Lutheran Church. The couple farmed in Newburg Township, Fillmore County, until moving into Mabel in 1993. Mr. Amunrud was an enthusiastic collector of antiques and a member of Scheie Lutheran Church.
He is survived by a sister, Helen (Nels) Gulbranson of Spring Grove. He was preceded in death by his wife on Sept. 19, 2001; and two sisters, Ardes Staven and Sigrid Nerstad.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel, and an hour before the service Saturday at the church.
Memorials may be directed to Scheie Lutheran Church or the Scheie Lutheran Church Improvement Fund.
