E. C. CLAYBROOK DIES FOLLOWING A LONG ILLNESS
Death Came at Family Home Friday Night at 8:45 O'Clock; Had Been ILL Four Years. FUNERAL MONDAY AFTERNOON Services Will be Held From the Residence at 1:30 O'Clock; Interment in Edgewood.

E. C. Claybrook, for years one of Chillicothe prominent citizens, died at his home, 312 Jackson street, at 8:45 o'clock Friday night. Funeral services will be held from the residence Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. G. Clifton Ervin, pastor of the Elm Street Methodist church. Interment will be in Edgewood. Mr. Claybrook was a native of Missouri, having been born at Bloomington May 20, 1870, being 63 years of age at his death. He came to Chillicothe in 1909 and had since resided here. For thirty years he was traveling salesman for the John S. Brittain Dry Goods Co. of St. Joseph, which position he held until four years -ago when his health failed. He Is survived by his wife and four daughters. They are Mrs. W. S. Love, Nevada, Mo.; Mrs. Charles Arthaud and Misses Edna and Claudie Claybrook of this city; two sisters, Mrs. Mona Ulen, Fresno, Calif., and Mrs. Jennie Osborn of Bucklin, Mo.; four grandchildren, Charles and Richard Arthaud of Chillicothe and Rosemary and Suzanne Love, Nevada, Mo. Ed Claybrook, as he was known to his host of friends, was a man of energy and applied himself closely to any matter of business he had at hand. He was a man whose many excellent personal qualities made him many friends. Upright, honorable in all his dealings, genial and affable, a kind and loving husband and father, a true, friend to those to whom he gave his friendship, Mr. Claybrook was a man who was highly respected by those who knew him.

Son of Joseph D. and Marriane White Claybrook. Brother to Minnie L. Clemens, Clella Ryals, Neila, Mona and Jennie Claybrook.
