SMITHVILLE — Ira Forrest Prince, 82, of Smithville, passed away on Friday, November 9, 2007, in the Bloomington Hospital. He was born on May 22, 1925, in Monroe County to the late Jesse and Pauline (Tate) Prince.

Ira was a U.S. Army veteran serving in WWII. He worked for Indiana Limestone Quarry and was the co-owner of Prince and Son Logging of Bloomington.

On December 3, 1944, he married his loving wife of more than 60 years, Thelma M. (Kinser) Prince, who survives. Ira also leaves behind one son, Robbin D. Prince, and his wife, Karen, of Smithville; one daughter, Gloria J. (Prince) Eads and her husband, Danny, of Bedford; one brother, Darrell Prince of Smithville; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ira was preceded in death by one son, Rodney D. Prince, and one daughter, Carolyn Sue Morron; his parents Arthur and Pauline (Tate) Prince; and four brothers, Emery, Opal, Curtis and Ancel; and six sisters, Eva Hillenburg, Marie Hillenburg, Flossie Robertson, Lucy Kinser, Ruth Kinser and Ruby Prince.

Visitation will be held at the Day Funeral Home Tuesday, November 13, 2007, from 4-8 p.m. Services will be on Wednesday, November 14, at 1 p.m., also at the funeral home, with Rev. Dale Goddard officiating. Burial will take place at the Clover Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg, with veterans honor guard service.
