Rosa Scouten was the daughter of the late Abraham and Abbie Youngs Scouten and was born in Boonville, Nov. 22, 1860, and had spent her entire life here.
On May 30, 1880, she was united in marriage with Patrick Riley and to this union two children were born, Floyd E. of Boonville and Eddie, who died while quite young. She is survived besides her husband and son; one sister, Mrs. Asa Dillenbeck, of New Hartford, and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Riley was a home-loving woman and was held in high esteem by all who knew her. Her passing is a grief to all of her friends. Rome Daily Sentinel, Saturday Evening, January 5, 1929
