Mr. Warta died Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003, at his home.
He was born Dec. 12, 1908, in Ellsworth County, the son of Frank and Marie (Schultze) Warta. He moved from rural Valley Falls to Oskaloosa in 1960.
Mr. Warta was a farmer and dairyman in rural Valley Falls from 1938 until 1960. He was a manager and deliveryman for Farmland Industries at Oskaloosa Elevator Facility from 1960 until he retired in 1976. He was a member of Oskaloosa United Methodist Church.
He married Mabel I. Diehl on April 3, 1931, in Salina. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Byron, Newton; a sister, Clara Wagner, Salina; two grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.
