Tomasa (Tommie) Brenda Culpepper

Tomasa (Tommie) Brenda Culpepper of Mojave passed away peacefully at her home on October 26. She was born on October 6, 1931 in Lancaster to Marcos and Simon Valadez. Tomasa was united in marriage to Eddie Culpepper on December 15, 1952.
As well as working as a waitress, she was a cafeteria manager for the Mojave Unified School District for 25 years. She greatly enjoyed her service to the Elks Lodge of Mojave. She enjoyed traveling and going to Mojave High School football games and she was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. She will always be a part of the lives she touched throughout her life.
Preceding her in death are her parents, her beloved husband, Harvey; her sister, Ruth; and her brother, Manual. Survivors include her children, John and Kathleen Culpepper of Tehachapi, Harvey and Jolene Culpepper of Elizabethtown, KY, and Cindy and Donny Moore of Mojave; sisters, Esther and husband, Manual Trevino of San Antonio, TX, Margie and husband, John Terry of Mojave, and Rita and husband, Bob Wyler of San Jacinto, CA; brothers, Tony and wife, Elaine Valadez of San Ysidro, CA, John (and companion, Gail) Valadez of Mojave, CA, Phillip Valadez of Mojave, CA, Michael (and companion, Dee) Valadez of Mojave, CA, Victor Valadez of Mojave, CA, and Jesse and wife, Tatiana Valadez of Mojave, CA; brother-in-law, Wayne Culpepper, sister-in-law, Barbara Hogg and Doris Frasier of Los Angeles and sister-in-law, Nelda Dunman of Texas.
Tomasa was blessed with eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and large extended, loving family. The family would especially like to thank Jackie Shippie for the friendship and loving care she took making Tommie's hair beautiful every week, and for her special neighbors who watched over one another.
A visitation was held on Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Stickel Mortuary Chapel, 2201 Inyo Street, Mojave. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 1, at 10 a.m. at Crossroads Foursquare Church, 16518 Holt St., Mojave with burial following the funeral at Mojave Public Cemetery.
