He was a member of Wesley Chapel Methodist Church. He also had 25 years of service with Cedartown Little League.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Faye Nichols; his father, James Curtis Nichols; a daughter. Keela Faye Nichols; and a brother Gene Nichols.
Survivors include a daughter, Debra Oneal of Cedartown; a son, Ricky Nichols of Charlotte, N. C.; his mother, Lucille Cornelia Shiflett Nichols of Cedartown; a brother, Donald Nichols of Cedartown; five grandchildren; and a great grandchild.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 3, at Lake Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Woodard, the Rev. Linda Smith, and the Rev. Mike Brooks officiating.
Interment followed in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
