Eric attended International Baptist College of AZ with his first year sponsored by Victory Baptist Church of California City. Soon, he went on to earn his BA in Education. Next, his Masters at the University of Phoenix, while working as an academic counselor. At the time of his death, Eric was working on his Doctrine specializing in leadership. While working at the University of Phoenix, he touched many, many lives, helping others achieve their dreams in education, while achieving his own. His counseling and leadership will be greatly missed.
Eric is survived by his five year old son Joshiah from Mesa, Az, Elizabeth, his three year old daughter Elizabeth from Mesa, AZ, mother, Rochell Burton from California City, sister, Paula Burton, sister Rondalynn Jackson from Billings, MT, Former Wife, Melissa Burton from Mesa, AZ and uncle David Haughton from Ohio.
Eric is preceded in death by his father, Paul Lamon Burton from Ridgecrest, CA, Grandmother, Bessie Mae Haughton from California City, CA, and granddad, Matthew C. Haughton 2007 from California City, CA. Eric attended religious services at Victory Baptist Church of California City.
Memorial Services were held on October 19, 2007 at 7 p.m. at Mesa, AZ.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday October 26, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. at the Victory Baptist Church. 10173 S. Loop Blvd., California City, CA. Pastor Ron Smith from Victory Baptist Church will be conducting services. Internment will be held at the California City Memorial Park Cemetery.
Eric was a long time resident of California City, CA. He attended R. P. U., Joshua Middle School, and graduated from Mojave High School in 1994. Eric fellowshipped at Victory Baptist Church of California City under the pastorate of Pastor Ron Smith. Eric was a loving son, brother, father, and friend.
