Cecil is the husband of Alma Blake-Carter & son of Ewel B. & Anna M. Gholson-Carter. Cecil was raised in Buckner, Illinois. At the age of 17 he road the rails to Indiana and lived with his Aunt Elsie on a farm. Soon he got a job at U.S. Gary Steel Mill. He met and married his wife Alma Blake-Carter and they had one daughter.
Cecil was a very intelligent man. He was an inventor of many things. His mind was always thinking and planning new adventures. He was a loving, funny, and special man.
Cecil loved the outdoors. He loved to camp, hunt, and fish.
He also played his guitar by ear and he and wife Alma who played the piano spent many special times playing together. His family was his life. He had 3 grandchildren that adored him and miss him everyday. His favorite color was red. He would paint anything he got his hands on red, even his house.
