Born in Latham, Kansas, he was the son of William Jackson and Anna (Tinsley) Davis. He married Golda Ernestine Davis on Jan. 28, 1954, in Clayton, New Mexico. He was a wheat farmer and also a surveyor with ASCS for 24 years. He served in the European Theater of Operations with the 747th Tank Battalion that was attached to the Ninth and Seventh Armies during World War II. A resident of Haileyville, he died at the age of 91 at the McAlester hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1996, three brothers and six sisters.
