Services will be at 2 p. m. Tuesday at Rumsey Funeral Home for Ross "Big Red" Carlson, 81, Lawrence, with Rev. David Hallenbeck officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Carlson died Saturday at a Lawrence Nursing Home.
He was born July 11, 1904 at Lecompton, and married to Ruth A. Shoemaker December 1, 1947 in Lawrence. She died February 1, 1973.

Mr. Carlson farmed in the Clinton community and was employed by the Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant at Desoto before he retired.

Survivors include two stepdaughters, Sharon Nellis and Beverly Roberts, both of Lawrence, a brother Elmer C. Carlson, Morristown, Ariz. a sister Faye Burr, Newport beach, Calif., three grandchildren and four great grandchildren
