Henry

L. W. (Lester William) Henry, 81, of Cameron died at his home Oct. 7. Family visitation will be held Friday 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron. A graveside funeral will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Henry Family Cemetery on CR 258 (off FM 979). At time of fellowship and food will take place after the funeral at the Henry Home.

Henry was born on Dec. 29, 1925 to Jon F. and Lena Conrad Henry in Floresville. He grew up in south Texas and served his country in the United States Marines during WWII and serving in the Pacific Theatre. He married Clio Rae Dickey on July 8, 1950 and settled in Houston. After retiring they moved to their ranch outside Cameron.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Fred and J. W. Henry and a sister, Irene Carr.

Survivors include his wife, Clio; sons, Rick and friend, Sue Malone, of Houston and Pat and wife, Ava, of Cypress; grandchildren, Stephanie Seawright and husband, Gene, of Tomball, Teresa Ruiz and husband, Mike, of Cypress, and Jon Henry, of Cypress; sisters Gladys Teague and Mildred Marlowe, both of Conroe, Doris Griesenbeck of San Antonio; brother, Charles of Montgomery; one great great-grandson, Cameron; and many nieces and nephews.

In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests commemorative gifts to the Houston Shriners Hospital for Children, 6977 Main St., Houston, TX 77030, or through their web site.
