Mrs. Frank H. Hathorn died suddenly about 2:30 o'clock this morning at her home, No. 740 North Broadway. For a number of years, Mrs. Hathorn had been an invalid with heart disease and for more than a year had been unable to leave the house. Recently, however, there had been no apparent change for the worse in her condition. About 1:30 o'clock, she was attacked with a severe pain near her heart and died an hour later.
As soon as Mrs. Hathorn was stricken, her physician, Dr. A. S. Downs, was hurriedly summoned. He arrived almost immediately, but Mrs. Hathorn did not respond to his ministrations and died a few minutes after his arrival. Angina pectoris was given as the cause of death.
Coroner Charles B. Small was notified of Mrs. Hathorn's death, and after a brief examination deemed further investigation unnecessary.
Mrs. Hathorn was formerly Miss Kate Fonda, a daughter of Capt. and Mrs. Abram Fonda, a native of Louisville, Ky. She came to this village in 1884, at the time of her marriage to Mr. Hathorn. She was a member of the First Presbyterian church of this village. Her long invalidism enforced a very quiet life.
Besides her husband, and one daughter, Florence Fonda Hathorn, Mrs. Hathorn is survived by one sister, Mrs. Jules E. Schneider, of Dallas, Tex., and three brothers, Stephen Van Rensselaer Fonda, of this village, A. George Fonda, of Louisville, Ky., and Edward R. Fonda, of Dallas, Tex.
