Custer, Mich., Oct. 7. – The many friends of the Angus Cameron family were sorely grieved to learn of the death of the wife and mother at eight o'clock Tuesday morning, Oct. 7, after an illness of a week.
Margery Campbell was born at Greenfield, Ont., July 18, 1872 (actual date is 1871). At the age of 20 she was united in marriage to Angus Cameron at Ludington and from that time they made their home in Mason County. They lived on their farm in Custer for the past 14 years, where they had gathered about them a circle of warm friends and neighbors.
The couple had 11 children, two of whom have preceded their mother in death, those surviving being: Mrs. Cassie Gerbers of Riverton, Mrs. Lillian McGuire of Rosebush, Mrs. Mildred Conrad of Amber, Mrs. Muriel Rohrmoser of Custer and Miss Claribel Cameron who had just started a nurses' training course at Saginaw, and four sons at home, Gerald, Stuart, Robert and Cardinal. There are also five grandchildren, two brothers and one sister in Canada.
Mrs. Cameron has been a life member of the Catholic Church and has given her life to the care of her family, her home duties coming first in her loving care. Mrs. Cameron had been in ill health for the past year but only gave up a week ago to be confined to her room, and only the past few days was it realized by the family that she was seriously ill, complications following inflammation of the liver.
Funeral arrangements await word from relatives in Canada.
(stone has 1872 for date of birth; records in Canada show she was born in 1871)
