The 41st AL Infantry, under which Capt. B.F. Eddins served. He was the only Tuscaloosa native to die in Tuscaloosa County during the Civil War (1861–1865),. (Flag in AL Hist. Archives, courtesy of).

-----------------------------------------

According to the 1860 census, Capt. Eddins had several more children: Mary, 17 years old; Sarah, 16 yo; Laura, 14 yo; Emma, 12 yo; Harriet, 10 yo; Anna 7 yo; and Marion, 4 yo. This large family has a lot of living descendants, and they would probably like to see the name of their ancestor. I am a descendant of Harriet.
