My uncle.

RUSSELL POTTER, age 76, of East Galesburg, Illinois died at 10:00 A.M. on Sunday, August 23, 2009 at his home in East Galesburg, Illinois. He was born on December 21, 1932 in Galesburg, Illinois, the son of Harold and Sophie Carlson Potter. He married Myrtle Lee Farrell on December 20, 1954 in Galesburg, Illinois. She survives of East Galesburg, Illinois.
Also surviving are five sons, Ed (Trudy) Ennis of East Galesburg, Illinois, David Ennis of Galesburg, Illinois, Leo (Jenny) Ennis of Galesburg, Illinois, Pete (Kathy) Ennis of Rayville, Louisiana and Tom (Barb) Ennis of Clearwater, Florida; eighteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and two sisters, Alice Lockwood of Galesburg, Illinois and Margaret Carmony of Galesburg, Illinois. He was preceded in death by parents; one son: Larry Ennis; one daughter: Becky Jane Ennis; one brother and two sisters.
He was reared and educated in Galesburg, Illinois graduating from Galesburg High School. He worked in the Purington Brickyards in East Galesburg, Illinois for 27 years until they closed, then worked construction for 17 years.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Hurd Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. Rev. Gary Byant officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Hurd Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. Burial in Knoxville Cemetery in Knoxville, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Family. Fellowship after the services at the cemetery at the Hurd Hendricks Fellowship Center, 126 South Public Square, Knoxville, Illinois.
