F. Sue Jackson Bowers, 61, of Sherman, W.Va., died Oct. 16, 2004, at home.

She was born Jan. 9, 1943, in Jackson County, a daughter of Mary LeMaster Jackson and the late Denzil Jackson. She was a registered nurse at Jackson General, Western Hills and Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. She loved to play bass guitar, especially gospel and country music at many area places. She was a member of the former White Chapel Methodist Church in Sherman. She was a 1961 graduate of Ravenswood High School and WVU-Parkersburg branch School of Nursing.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 44 years, Billy Bowers of the home; children, Tammy Opel of Parkersburg, Karen Harmon of Georgia, Jim Bowers of Morgantown, W.Va., and Brandon Bowers of Sherman; brothers and sisters, Patricia Young of Florida, Jim Jackson of Sandyville, W.Va., Jean Adkins of Ravenswood, Jo Slaven, Sharon Teets and Karen Creel, all of Sherman, Steve Jackson of Millwood, W.Va., and Ed Jackson of Williamstown; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Terri; and a brother, Larry Jackson.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with the Rev. Junior Conger officiating. Burial will be in Ravenswood Cemetery. Friends may visit from 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
