AGED MAN DIES WHILE IN FIELD PLOWING
Marietta, April 11 - His body sagging against a fence and his horse and plow standing nearby, the lifeless body of Samuel W. Kesselring, one of the oldest residents of town, was found on the Miley farm here Tuesday afternoon by William Ellmake. Death was pronounced due to heart trouble.
Kesselring was 79 years old, having been born April 4, 1844, in Frederick, Md. For over half a century he has lived in Marietta, at one time employed as a furnace man and in recent years as a farmer.
In addition to his wife, to whom he had been married for sixty-one years he is survived by the following children: Miss Sarah, at home; John, Thurmont; Mrs. Mollie Hardsock, Billmeyer; Chester, Frederick, Md.; Thomas Kesselring, Mrs. John Poole and Mrs. James Nagle, Marietta. There are fourteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
The body was taken in charge by Undertaker Osterag, of Columbia, and prepared for burial. The funeral will be held from his home on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock with services in charge of the Rev. Alan Pressley Wilson, rector of St. John's Episcopal Church. Burial will be in the Marietta Cemetery.
