Verl Wyman
Mass of the Christian Burial was celebrated for Verl E. Wyman, age 86, of Westhope, on Wednesday, June 9, 1993 at 10 a.m. St. Andrews's Catholic Church in Westhope. Burial was in the Maxbass Cemetery.

Verl Eugene Wyman, a son of Henry D. and Lena (Von Ruden) Wyman, was born on the family farm near Westhope, on May 22, 1907. He was reared there, attended elementary school in Kane Township; and graduated from Brander Consolidated High School in 1925. He continued his education at North Dakota Agricultural College in Fargo for two years. Following the completion of his formal education, Verl began farming at Westhope. On December 26, 1935 he was married to Margaret Galvin at Bottineau. He was a Brander Township Supervisor for 30 years and was Chairman for 24 years. He had served on the Farmer's Union Board of Directors for at ime, and was a director for the Newburg Coop Elevator. He had served for 18 years on the Board of Directors of the North Dakota Broadcasting Co. that was instrumental in bringing television to North Dakota in the 1950's. He had served as a delegate to the North Dakota Bowling Council, representing the north central region of North Dakota, and had been an instructor in bowling at both Westhope, and Newburg. He retired from farming in 1975. Verl and Margaret were honored several years ago at the Golden Age Banquet sponsored by the Bottineau County Crop Improvement Association.

Verl was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church at Maxbass, where he had served as a Trustee. Following the merger of churches, they have been members at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Westhope….[missing text] Hospital following a long illness.

He is survived by his wife Margaret; two sons, ...; two daughters ...; 23 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; great grandchildren; and two sisters. Blanche Sausker of Westhope and Helen Hathaway of Beach, ND.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Lester and Cecil; one sister, Glady Schaffer and one great grandchild.
