Francis Josie Clinton, was born in 1921 to Thomas A and Augusta Kahl Clinton. She received her education in Crawford County, Iowa schools, graduating from the Denison high school in 1936. After graduation she taught country school for several years in East Boyer township, Crawford Co, Iowa. She became bedfast in 1942 and spent the remainder of her life confined to a wheel chair or bed. She died March 14, 1959 at the Crawford County Memorial hospital.
Preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers, Floyd and Richard. Survivors are two brothers, Lyle of Early and Joseph of Denison. Funeral services were held at the Huebner Funeral Home Tuesday, March 17, at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev Robert Caldwell officiating. Interment was in the Oakland Cemetery.
