Born July 12, 1921, in Chicago, Illinois. Died Sept. 21, 2007, in Lancaster, Calif. Barbara was the daughter of J. Shelton and E. Viola Gordon, deceased. Loving mother of children, Keith, Ruth, Carole, Audrey, David and Linda. Grandmother of Jeremy, Karyn, Becki, Demetrius, Carissa, Keegan, Ian, Monique, Philip, Marina and Riley. Great-grandmother of Elizabeth, Nathan and Jacob. Sister-in-Law to Margaret Gordon and Mary Moncrief. Aunt to Susan Miller and John Gordon. Barbara was a Palmdale resident for over 50 years. She owned her own business, Turner's of Palmdale Arts and Crafts: was a member of the Palmdale United Methodist Church, UMW, Palmdale Chamber of Commerce, PTA, Palmdale Women's Club, the Iris and Daylily Society and the Palmdale Lilac Festival. She loved gardening, arts and crafts, playing cards and games, especially Scrabble, and visiting with her family and friends whom will miss her dearly. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, at the Palmdale United Methodist Church, 39055 10th St. W. Palmdale. Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to the American Lung Association or Methodist Women. Email condolences to the family at [email protected].
