Deserted prior to July 1, 1862. Returned to duty prior to December 17, 1862 when he was captured in battle at Goldsboro. Paroled on or about the same date. Listed as paroled prisoner through February 1863. Dropped from the rolls of the company prior to September 1, 1863. Reason he was dropped was not reported. Previously served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the 63rd NC Militia.
