The coroner, C. Walter McCool investigated. He said that apparently the woman had no reason to
take her own life. The body was discovered by her grandson, Philip Gordon at about 8 am. It was
estimated that the woman had been dead for about 2 hours.
Mrs. McWhinney whose husband had died 25 years ago is survived by one son, Howard of Wayne Co, IN. Three
daughters, Mrs. Grace Gordon of New Paris, Mrs. Ruby Reid of Florida and Mrs. Helen Myer of Rockford, IL
