Helen Alice Edmonston
PROTECTION -- Helen Alice Edmonston, 94, died Sunday, March 9, 2003 at Protection Valley Manor, Protection.
She was born March 2, 1909 to George and Mahala Ellen (Howell) Eubank in Pratt County, west of Coats. She married Harold Floyd Edmonston May 26, 1930 in Bucklin. He preceded her in death Feb. 19, 1996.
She was nearly a lifetime resident of the Protection area, living in both Clark and Comanche Counties during her life. She graduated from Protection High School in 1929.
She was a homemaker and was a member of the Sugarloaf E.H.U. Unit. She enjoyed gardening and sewing.
Survivors include two sons, Don Edmonston, Greensburg and Myron Edmonston and wife, Susan, Protection; one daughter, Melba Swanson and husband, Kenneth, Ashland; two brothers, Mal "Bill" Eubank, Protection and George "Junior" Eubank, Protection; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Howard Eubank and two sisters, Stella Moore and Adabel Browning.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church, Protection, with Herb Flinkman and Randy Dirrim presiding. Burial will be at the Protection Cemetery, Protection.
Friends may call from 1--7 p.m. Wednesday at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater.
