JOHN TILTON JONES’ FAMILY:

FATHER: MARTIN EASTWOOD JONES, BORN 27 DEC 1844, in Lumpkin County, Georgia, DIED 05 MAY 1925, in Evans County, Georgia.  Interred in Ephesus Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Bulloch County, Georgia.  His father, a CSA Veteran and former prisoner of war during the War For Southern Independence, married three times and had a total of eleven children of which eight, including JOHN TILTON JONES, lived to reach adulthood.
(1)  His father married 1st Mary ‘Polly’ Sumerlin, on 27 APR 1871. She was Born Circa 1856, d. Unknown (still searching!), she was the daughter of William Asbury Sumerlin, b. 1826, d. 26 APR 1892 (age 66), CSA Veteran, 1st Lt, and Phoebe Ann Nevil, b. 25 OCT 1825, d. 15 JUN 1903.  Phoebe Ann Nevil is a younger sibling of Thomas Nevil - 2 children from this marriage are:
      (a)  WILLIAM ‘BILLY’ JONES, born About 1874, died After 1960.  Billy lived his life near Miami, Florida.  Uncle William "Billy" Jones, my mother's half-brother, was born about 1874, date of death sometime after 1960.  Facts.  I've never met Uncle "Billy" Jones, nor any of his family.  My Brother, Alfred Jackson Bowen, III, born 05 JUN 1930, told me in 1958, the same year he married;  he, his wife, Fannie Myrtle Bradley (my wife, Wealthy's youngest sister), and our mother, Ethel Marguerite Jones Bowen, visited Miami, Florida.  They had Uncle 'Billy's" address and they spent the night in Uncle Billy's house (Uncle William "Billy" Jones, mother's oldest sibling, was about 84 years old at that time and was in good health) and continued on to Miami Beach the following day.  My sister,  Marguerite, told me after she divorced her first husband and while she was living in Miami, Florida, one of Uncle "Billy's" daughters, her first cousin, called her on the telephone because they had a mutual acquaintance.  My sister, Marguerite, remembers she introduced herself as "Billie" Jones, probably a nickname,  Marguerite said the opportunity to meet her, in person, never occurred. She, Marguerite, remembers, however, that this daughter of Uncle "Billy" told her she was six (6') feet tall and a worked as a Model in California, but was now back in the State of Florida.  The mutual acquaintance of their's was Marguerite's Flying Instructor, who had ‘skipped out’ to South America without allowing Marguerite to complete all her "paid for" flying lessons.  Marguerite thinks there may have been other children in Uncle "Billy's" family but does not know their names or any specific information for documentation.
(b) JOHN TILTON JONES WAS THE 2ND CHILD BORN TO HIS FATHER AND MOTHER, MARY "POLLY" SUMERLIN.

(2) Next JOHN TILTON JONES' FATHER, married 2nd Sallie E. Lanier, b. 06 AUG 1847, d. 28 JAN 1897, interred in Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery, Bulloch County, Georgia.  Five children from this marriage are:
(a) CALLEY D. JONES, b. 18 AUG 1883, d. 25 OCT 1886.  She died at age three, interred in the Thomas Nevil Family Cemetery, Bulloch County, Georgia, aka ‘Nevil-Jones’ Family Cemetery next to her grandparents, William M. Jones and Nancy Hendricks.
(b) NORMAN JONES, b. About 1885, d. Unknown.  Currently, his date of death is not known nor whether he was ever married and had children.  Burial location unknown (Still searching).

Austin, and [3]. Willis R. Jones, b. 24 FEB 1924.  Married  Niza Lee George,  b. 03 SEP 1928 .  Two Children:  Daniel Franklin Jones, b. 08 AUG 1952 and John Richard Jones, b. 09 JAN 1960.
