Nancy J Holloway was born Dec 15, 1851 in Thorntown, Boone county, Indiana, died January 6, 1919 at her home near Pawnee, Mo. She was the oldest in a family of thirteen children and moved with her parents to Harrison county in 1854, here she resided ever since. She was married to Jasper M Holloway, January 18, 1878. To this union were born eight children; Leonard C, Martha J, Luella M, Orton H., John W, Newton L, Uriah S, and James A, all of which survive her except Luella, who died in infancy. Her companion also passed to his reward, Mary 6, 1916.
For many years she was a constant sufferer from the dreaded disease, tuberculosis, together with other complications. She bore her suffering with patience and fortitude and finally passed to her reward without a murmur.
She united with the United Brethren Church at an early age. Later she united with the Latter Day Saints and ever remained a faithful adherent to the gospel of Christ. Besides the immediate family she leaves to mourn one sister, Lydia Holloway of Pawnee, six brothers, john and James H Bowen, of Gary, Colorado, also Frank and Charles and Henry Bowen of Pawnee, besides many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were at the Lone Rock church, sermon by Elder E E Long of Lamonie Iowa. Burial in Lone Rock cemetery.

Notice that the Burial is actually Payne Cemetery, There is also a dispute as to whether they were married 1876 or 1878. LKB
