She arrived in the USA in 1845 via the Port of Baltimore, Maryland. She married George Raum and together they had 11 known children: Charles, John, Henry "Harry", George John, William, Theresa Grace, Mary, Franklin "Frank", Katherine "Kate", Andrew Jackson, and Rose Etta.

Hattie Virginia Raum Sisson (Caroline's Granddaughter) knew Caroline, and left a letter of family history in Dec 1974, giving Caroline's maiden name as Willenbach. Caroline was also entered in Hattie's Bible as Willenbach. Caroline's sons' (Henry) death record names his mother as Caroline Wettzbacher. Her own death certificate names her as Caroline Hoek Raum. Which is it? There is no primary record from which she, herself, gives her maiden name. The documents above are someone else's information given for records. I will go with Hoek, for now, since her death record is closer in time to her, than Henry's death record and Hattie's notes, stories and Bible entries.
