COURTNEY, Monette Camille, born in Dallas, Texas on December 1, 1916, gave up her battle with cancer on September 2, 2007, at 90 years of age. They moved their family to California in 1945, then to the Antelope Valley in 1980. She was a grand lady with many accomplishments. She leaves a daughter, Janice Sinclair and husband Richard of Quartz Hill, who were at her side from beginning to end, and a son Emmett Jene and Laura Courtney of Lakeside, Calif., and 47 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Emmett Courtney in 1986, and a son, Jerry Courtney in 2006. She was loved by so many and will be greatly missed. Gone from our sight, but forever in our hearts. We will be with her again. Very special thanks with much love to all the staff at Mayflower Gardens Hospital and all the Vitas Hospices staff. I couldn't have done this without you; you all are angels in disguise. We will never forget your loving care you gave to "mom". Thank you. Service will be held at 12 noon, Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, at Lancaster Seventh Day Adventist Church, 43824 N. 30th St. West, Lancaster, Calif., with burial at Desert Lawn Memorial Park. Joshua Memorial Park & Mortuary, Lancaster.
