Herbert O. Hampton 85 1900 13th, Herrin, formerly of Sumner, died about 3:30 a.m today in Shawnee Chrisitian Nursing Center, Herrin.
Born Nov 16, 1907 in Sumner, he was a son of Andrew and Vilena Howell Hampton. He was retired from the railroad.
He was married to Pearl M. Barr Hampton and she preceded him in death Sep 9,1967.
Survivors include a son, Andrew Hampton, Marion, a daughter Vilena Cecil, Stafford, Ariz; a sister Lula Brush, Onley; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, one great great granchild.
