Lavern "Skinny" Jones, 91 year-old, life long Seminole resident passed from this life Thursday, June 7, 2012 in Seminole, Oklahoma. She was born March 11, 1921 in Seminole, Oklahoma to parents, Callie Lane Jordan and William "Bill" Jordan.
Lavern married Rev. Jack Jones on August 17, 1940 in McAllen, Texas and together they served as Missionaries for several years. She worked at the "old" Seminole Hospital for many years, she was a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother, who loved to fish and dance.
Lavern is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jack Jones who died November 13, 2000, three brothers, four sisters and by one granddaughter, Angie Paul who died in 2006.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2012 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole with Rev. Roy Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
