MRS. KATE TUDOR CALLAHAN--of Danville Route 3, who had been a patient at Memorial Hospital in Danville, died Tuesday, Sept. 14 at 10:48 a.m. She had been in declining health for the past year. Widely known, loved and respected, she had lived at the Danville address since 1917. Mrs. Callahan was the daughter of the late John Lane and Rebecca Grady Tudor. She was born at Critz on Nov. 29,1882. She received her early education at Critz, following which she attended Norman School and Eastern College. Prior to her marriage to William J.Callahan on Dec. 31,1903, she taught school at Patrick Springs and Critz. She was a member of the Critz Baptist Church and attended Kentuck Baptist Church. Mrs Callahan is survived by two sons, Dr. Willie R. Callahan of Washington, D.C. and Clarence T. Callahan of Downers.Ill. Five daughters, Mrs. Clarry Warren of Hampton, Mrs. Linely Taff and Miss Lois Callahan, both of Newport News, and Mrs. Charles Lawerence, Jr. of Virginia Beach; one sister, Mrs. Beverly Grogan and one brother, Russell H. Tudor, both of Critz. The body will remain at the home until one hour prior to funeral services, which will be conducted from Townes Memorial Chapel Friday at 2 p.m. by Rev. Charlie M. Shelton. Interment will follow in the J. H. Lane Tudor family cemetery at Critz at 4 p.m. The graveside service will be conducted by Rev. Charlie M. Shelton and Rev. Robert J. Mann.
