John Remsberg II, the sixth child and third son of John Remsberg I and Catharine Thomas Remsberg, his wife, was born on the old homestead in 1800, and died in 1865. He spent his life following the occupation of a farmer, at which he was very successful. At his death, he was the owner of four fine and well improved and equipped farms, consisting of 141, 186, 132 and 73 acres, respectively, all of which were under a high state of cultivation. He was one of the leading and best known farmers of the county.

In religion, he was a consistent member of Christ Reformed Church of Middletown, in which he was one of "The Pillars" so to speak, for many years, having filled the various offices thereof with distinction.

In politics, he was an ardent supporter of the "Whig" and "Republican" parties, in their respective times,

On May 31st, 1827, he married Miss Catharine Coblentz of Phillip, and was a member of a large and influential family of eight children;vis; Henry, Catharine, John, Sarah, ven Elizabeth, Philip and Magdalena.

He and his wife had ten children, nine of who lived to maturity.

He died February 19, 1865, being preceded by his wife who died April 27, 1850.
