She shares a double stone with him. He passed away in 2006.

In row 21 there is a large Maple tree that was planted in 1990 in her memory. There is a marble bench at the base of, what is now, (2007) this large tree. Between the bench and the tree is a plaque with her name on it.

In the first picture of her stone it can be seen in the background up the hill behind her grave.

The back of her stone says simply, "Someone Cares"

The manager of the cemetery knew Carl and helped him in his later years.

He remembered Carl coming to the cemetery after Virginia's death and sitting on the bench in the shade for long periods of time.

It is heart rending to think of an older gentleman seated on the bench gazing down the slope to the final resting place of his wife.

Maybe he was the one to chose the epitaph... 'Someone Cares'

At the end of one's life wouldn't it be a grand thing to know that there'll be at least one person left to remember you and that they did in fact 'care'.
