P. Evanuski, Ill Briefly, Dies Thursday.

Funeral Rites Monday Morning For Miner Stricken Last Week

Spring Valley, Ill.-Peter Evanuski, Sr., 65, died at St. Margaret's hospital at 2:35 o'clock Thursday afternoon following a brief illness.

Mr. Evanuski had worked in the No. 3 mine of Spring Valley Coal Mining Co. up until a week and a half ago. On Friday of last week he was stricken seriously with bronchitis and asthma. Taken to the hospital Monday, he failed to respond to treatment and death came Thursday afternoon as the climax of a steady decline.

Born in Lithuania, he came to the United States and directly to Spring Valley 35 years ago. For many years he has made his home at 227 West Fifth street.

Surviving are the widow and five children as follows: Stanley and Frank, Jr., Chicago; Peter, Janesville, Wis.; John, Texas; Mrs. Constantine Zukowski, LaSalle.

Following the death of his first wife seven years age, Mr. Evanuski remarried five years ago.

He was a member of the Spring Valley Lodge of the Lithuanian Alliance.

Funeral services are to be held Monday morning with the cortege leaving the family home for rites at 9 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic church with the Rev. Rupsis officiating. Burial will be made in the Mt. Olivet cemetery.

Evanuski Rites Sunday

Spring Valley, Ill.-Funeral services were held here Sunday afternoon for Peter Evanuski, who died at St. Margaret's hospital on Thursday afternoon.

The cortege moved from the family home, 227 West Fifth street, for rites at St. Anne's Catholic church at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. Albert Rupsis officiating. Burial was made in St. Anne's Cemetery.

The pallbearers were as follows; Peter Giedvelas, John Brussock, Felix Eitutis, Frank Doczkus, Vincent Shimkus and Alvin Pilipaitis.

NOTE: Death certificate states that his fathers name is Joseph Evanuski. Informant was his son Stanley Evans.
