Gerald E. Ranney was born Oct. 4,1926, in Delavan, son of Joseph and Agnes Shannon Ranney. He married on Nov. 10, 1946 to Louise Bloomer; she died July 14, 1968.Mr. Ranney was employed by Commonwelth Edison 24 years, retiring Nov. 2, 1974. He was a member of Calvary Baptist church, a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors: his parents; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Donna) Cook; and Linda Thompson; and four grandchildren.
One brother [James Lee Ranney] preceded him in death.
