Author. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he was best remembered for being the writer and creator of the popular radio show, "Fibber McGee and Molly". He was head writer for NBC Radio, (1935-1952), plus wrote and created NBC's TV series "The Halls of Ivy". He also wrote for the TV series "Four Star Play House", "The Dinah Shore Chevy Show", "The Addams Family" and commercial jingles for all the major networks. He died at age 67.
